After about a month, my truck starts to die when I take it out of park. Aug 26, 2009 Transmission model is 4L60E,and the symptoms you are describing is a common failure on these transmissions all the way back to it's predecesor, the 700 R 4 model. The 2 transmissions use a different 3-2 solenoid that ohm different. Let me know cause this is a very serious matter which I would like to fix before I get into an accident. Other leaks, where components meet, could be due to problems with the sealer or incorrect bolt tightening.
Since this time, when I pull the trailor for a long period of time, the truck will again feel as if it is in neutral. In this case the only real solution is a total transmission and torque converter rebuild, because by the time a transmission gets to this point, there are many parts worn badly inside the transmission, and there will be lots of grit floating around in the fluid causing other internal damage. The 1995 year has a number of one-year-only parts internally and you cannot swap in any other year. Jumpy speedo seems strange, however. I believe the problem is in the electric components and not the actual transmission. Homelink transmitter will not hold code for longer than a month. .
Answer 1 We assume your transmission is the late model 1991 version with the second-generation shifter, this model has a stamped steel reaction plate around the shift pod under the shifter assembly that controls the shifter. This doesn't happen all of the time. Also, had problems with the cd player. The reaction plates have a tendency to break and cause the sloppy symptom you are describing. I've decided to just wait on fixing it until I get home this coming Friday. It is in the repair shop again because when you put the truck in reverse it dies.
But the motor dieing and the fuel pump acting weird only happens 2 or 3 times a week, and doesn't seem to die more often when the trans isn't shifting. It will effect the trans as well since it is comp contolled. Worn synchro rings can result in gear clash when going into forward gears though they can stick somewhat in new or recently rebuilt transmissions, leading to hard or noisy shifting, which gets better as the rings wear in. Every hole or crack in the road I can feel when I hit a small hole or a dip in the pave the vehicle wants to dog track most of the time the truck pulls to the left, when it does there is a slight vibration you can feel from the accelerator or the brake. Dealer has tried to fix problem 3 different times, but that is not working and has made condition worse than before. I will check the wiring tonight. When this happens the transmission will not have first gear, only second and above and reverse, plus the power is diminished.
Has never slipped or stuttered. It took some time to find 1st gear to pull away from the stop light. The child stayed in the vehicle and was unhurt. Sir, First thing, disconnect battery and have a beer. . Found fuel line contacting firewall.
Recently, my truck has been stuck in 2nd gear. No change then changed transmission. I replaced the entire encoder motor. How can I tell if it's just a shift solenoid that's bad? You can find this tutorial in Spanish here: at: autotecnico-online. The transmission shifts so hard it feels as if the back end of the truck will fall out. The truck had a transmission leak. This does not happen every time, it is hit or miss.
The shift lever is locked when the key is in the locked position 2. I believe there is a controversy into all of this. Use the connector under the dash. Randomly though, it works perfectly. GuruB514X answered 4 months ago I have 97 with 5.
Looking for another opinion and reassurance before I buy the part. Aftermarket companies sell heavy duty, and standard duty, replacements. While driving when engaging the passing gear sometimes you hear that clonking sound like if there was a slack in the transmission. I will make a note to self not to replace the 5. Tested it for a couple hours with a multi-meter and my ford a4ld book before I finally decided to put the harness in it. There are clonking and ticking sounds coming from the transmission just from shifting from drive to reverse, reverse to drive. Do the cheap stuff first.
